HILL VOTES FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE “WATERS OF THE UNITED STATES” RULE
Washington, D.C. – January 14, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, after the House passed S.J.Res. 22, A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Corps of Engineers and the Environmental Protection Agency relating to the definition of “waters of the United States” under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, Congressman French Hill (AR-02) released the following statement:
“At last night’s State of the Union address, the president made a point to characterize too much regulation out of Washington as being burdensome on the American people. The WOTUS rule is a prime example of the overregulation, to which President Obama alluded last night. The law never intended for the federal micromanaging of streams and ponds on private lands and farms in Arkansas, and it would be a great opportunity for the president to put his money where his mouth is and prevent this vast overreach by the EPA.”
